I have been wanting to try out this restaurant for a while due to its great reviews on Zomato. I ordered a meal box to try out the menu which has so many good sounding options.
Goa Green Chicken Meal: It had Goa Green Chicken Curry, Yellow Dal, Jeera Rice & Tandoori Roti. Accompanied by Papad Chura, Laccha Onions & Lime Wedges. The highlight of the dish was Goa green chicken curry. It was spicy (my lips were burning) and tasty. Great flavors in the dish. Daal and jeera rice was good but nothing out of ordinary. Laccha onions were onions. 4.5/5 on taste for the curry.
Butter Chicken Meal: The butter chicken was smooth and flavorful. It went very well with the butter garlic naan which came along. Daal was thick and tasty. 4/5 on taste.
Nehru Place Paneer Makhani Meal: It had paneer makhani along with dal makhani, jeera rice and butter garlic naan. The paneer makhani was good in taste but nothing great. Daal and rice were as in the other meals. 3.5/5 on taste.
Raw Mango Prawn Curry Meal: It had nicely flavored prawn curry with small pieces of raw mangoes. It was tasting good, but the quantity was less for the curry and more of the rice and daal. 4/5 on taste.
Lamb Seekh Roll: It was having lamb seekh but flavors were not powerful enough. 3/5 on taste.
Chicken Vindaloo meal box: It had chicken vindaloo, naan, dry fruit pulav, dal makhani, chura papad, and sago pudding. Chicken vindallo was spicy and perfectly cooked. It was flavorful and amazing. Naan was the softest naan I have ever had. It was almost like a bread kulcha. Dry fruits pulav was great in flavors and with daal makhani it tasted good. Sago pudding was subtle in flavors. 4.5/5 on taste.
Broccoli & Corn Pizza: The pizza base was well cooked and light. The taste of the pizza was good added but broccoli and hardly by the small number of corns. 4/5 on taste.
Paneer Tikka & Tomato Pizza: An excellent pizza all the way. Full of flavors of paneer tikka and tomatoes. It was a bit spicy as well. One of the good pizzas I have had. 4.5/5 on taste.
One fine day I visited this place with my family. The menu on Zomato and Dineout both were outdated. I ordered veg, non-veg, and a starter with Indian breads.
Lucknowi Chicken Korma: It was having green gravy with well-cooked chicken pieces inside. There were also some caramelized onions in it. The overall taste of the dish was good with subtle flavors but nothing great. 3.5/5 on taste.
Birmingham Vegetable Jalfrezi or Vegetable and Makhana Balti: I ordered Birmingham Vegetable Jalfrezi as it had a chili icon (spicy). The dish delivered and written on the bill was Vegetable and Makhana Balti. I do not know if they messed up the order or if they are the same as per their menu. Due to the loud music, I was not able to hear the waiter when he mentioned the dish name when he put it on the table. The taste was decent with subtle flavors again. More like the 100 Rs veg dish you get in most Indian restaurants. It was not spicy at all. Probably it must be spicy for foreigners or someone who has never had chili in their life. 3/5 on taste.
Paneer Dori Kebab: It had a large seekh kebab made of paneer and a Dori inside which is pulled to remove the kabab out. The taste of the kebab was a mixture of malai paneer with some fine chilies. Again the flavors were subtle but good. Chutney was to be scraped off the plate due to the presentation. 3.5/5 on taste.
Assorted bread basket: It had butter, naan, missi roti, and mint paratha. All rotis were well cooked and good in taste. The naan was the best of the lot with soft parts. There should also be an option to have naan without the butter as it was not on the menu. Still, the naan was the best part of the meal and one of the best ones I have had.
So overall my dine-in experience was disappointing. Good dishes I have had before like Chicken Vindaloo were no longer on the menu,. I doubt that I would visit this place again.
