I saw a listing of this new restaurant on Swiggy and the menu looked very inviting. I tried ordering a few times for lunch but the restaurant did not accept the order for some or other reason. Finally one fine day I was able to order.
Vanakkam Signature Masala Dosa: The dosa came in nice packaging, and a container full of sambhar, green chutney, and red chutney. The dosa was well cooked and soft. The potato filling inside was good but not among the best I have had. The best part of the dish was sambhar and chutneys. It was one of the best I have had. Excellent, thick, and flavorful sambhar with brinjals, drumsticks, and pumpkin. The red chutney was also very good and tasty. Unlike Banana Leaf where I think the red chutney has a raw flavor that tastes very bad. 4.5/5 on taste.
Chefs Signature Malabari Idli: There was a bowl full of Malabari curry, mini idlis, and chutneys. The curry was excellent in flavors. It was amazing with great consistency. Quality was written all over it. The idlis were small and few in number. I was expecting large idlis tossed in sauce just like Banana Leaf but less number of mini idlis was a disappointment. Overall a great dish due to the curry. 5/5 on taste.
Paneer Ghee Roast Dosa: The dosa was filled with a lot of paneer with good flavors but the paneer was like a dry paneer fry than paneer with masala. 3.5/5 on taste.
Overall a good experience with this restaurant. I will update this review as I order more items in the future.
